In Year 7 and Year 8 students are focused on the following careers aims:
Students are able to understand and be inspired by the careers and opportunities that are available to them in the wider working world, alongside beginning to identify the desirable skills and qualifications required for these routes.听听

By the end of Year 8, the programme will have allowed student to听

Students can articulate a career path(s) across all curriculum areas.
听

Students can articulate employability skills required for differing career paths.
听

Students can articulate an aspiration for themselves.
听

Students can describe the qualifications / subjects that will support them in achieving their aspirations.

Curriculum Areas 51猎奇� Be Inspired Sessions听	Every term, in week 5 students will take part in a 51猎奇榖e inspired51猎奇� session across differing subject areas. These sessions introduce students to careers that link directly with specific curriculum areas. For example, when students examine the structure of the eye in science, they will examine the role of an optician, and the skills required for this career.听听听
Employer Encounters / Events听听	Across all subject areas, our Career Champions work hard to ensure students have the opportunities to meet employers that link with their subject area. For example, in 2024 the following encounters took place:听 Geography 51猎奇� architect working on Beechwood Park & a volcanologist English 51猎奇� Darren Shan, the author & the charity owner of Shelter听听 Computing 51猎奇� examined differing roles in the NHS whilst taking part in the 51猎奇榮tep into NHS51猎奇� competition听听 Engineering 51猎奇� met with a Cummins engineer and explored their role听
A day in the life of51猎奇μ�听	All Year 8 students will have the opportunity to be introduced to a panel of local employers, where they can hear about their roles in differing sectors and ask them questions about all aspects of their career.听听

Students will meet the owner of a local charity (HHCK). Within this curriculum students in Year 8 will complete a 51猎奇楤e Inspired unit51猎奇�, which will allow them to explore the following: 1. What types of employment exist in the UK? Self-employed, voluntary and employed. 2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of different employment types? 3. What roles and careers are available in our local area?听 4. What is the Labour Market Index and what does this show?听听
Be Inspired 51猎奇odcast听	Every 5th week, all Y7 and Y8 students will watch and listen to our internal 51猎奇楤e Inspired51猎奇� careers podcast. This is a Podcast hosted by Miss Woolford, where she interviews past students about how Trinity supported them in getting to the places they are now 51猎奇� we have past students who have gone on to all different sectors and some who are travelling the world!听听
Professional Standards Curriculum听 Be51猎奇rofessional!听听	Every Monday, in College Time, students will hone in on one of our Professional Standards 51猎奇� Conduct, Dedication, Organisation, Pride and Values. Students will explore why this standard is required and expected of them; exploring how these standards can support them in future careers.听
Graduation Be Inspired to51猎奇�. Graduate!听	Graduation is our Year 7 & Year 8 character curriculum programme. To graduate students must remain dedicated to meeting the criteria over the course of both Y7 and Y8. This includes a good attitude to learning, attendance to extra-curriculum 51猎奇榖e inspired51猎奇� clubs, efforts shown in Masters of Recall and involvement in our 51猎奇楤e Inspired 51猎奇� Trinity Talks Programme51猎奇� Find out more here:听 Graduation
Trinity Talks Be Inspired to51猎奇ublic speak!听听	Working with local employers it51猎奇檚 been clear that they are finding the new generation struggle to communicate and interact within the workplace. We51猎奇檝e developed 51猎奇楾rinity Talks51猎奇� to support our young people in building strong communication skills in a realm of different opportunities. Within curriculum areas they will present poems, host debates, present factual presentations, all the hope that their confidence with speaking in front of peers develops over the two years.听听
Graduation Clubs Be a51猎奇�.听听	All our clubs allow students to develop skills and knowledge that may be required in differing sectors in the hope that they spark a passion and interest in our young people. For example, sports clubs will be focused on 51猎奇楤e a footballer, Be a rugby player; whilst other clubs include 51猎奇楤e an activist, Be an Engineer51猎奇�, 51猎奇楤e a Scientist51猎奇� and 51猎奇楤e a gamer51猎奇�.
